We decided to set-up a website so our family and friends
could see how Kai is doing and keep up with his progress.
Kai was diagnosed with ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia)
on December 16, 2003. His diagnosis came as a complete shock
to all of us, and it still seems very surreal. Upon diagnosis,
Kai’s doctor immediately started chemotherapy and had a central
line/catheter put into his chest. All the chemotherapy medication
that Kai would get intravenously goes through his catheter
(which makes it a lot less painful!). Kai will be undergoing
chemotherapy for the next three years. |
